Exterior Photography

“Following a building’s journey from initial excavation to final completion…you get to really understand a building.

I visit the site through different seasons, times of day, in all kinds of weather. You start to learn how the exterior materials play with the light, how the colours and tones change, where the angles are.

It helps, too, to take the time to understand the architect’s intent, their vision for how the building will sit in the landscape, its impact on the skyline and the urban fabric – this constantly guides my approach.

There’s also the human element— how people interact with the building, the way they approach, navigate, and enter the space.

My aim is to capture the defining exterior angle that tells the building’s story – how it defines a place in its environment.”
